I spent my first 20 years as an adult in the United States Marine Corps. Since then, my wife and I are a real estate team in Goodyear AZ. In my spare time, I love doing DIY woodworking projects around here and for family. Which led me to making cutting boards. Last year for Christmas I made cutting boards for the family and I become obsessed with making them, hence this website!
Bumpa is a nickname for Grandpa in the Northeast. My biggest role model was my Bumpa so when I was blessed with Grandchildren, there was no debating what my title was going to be. I have some big shoes to fill but love the opportunity.
Edge grain is the “side” of the board. It's usually the side that woodworkers measure the “thickness” of a board. End grain is the end of the board. end grain butcher block is the most durable, almost self-healing, and easier on your knives. End grain is usually a butcher block style board and is a little thicker, longer board and usually has a higher price tag.
